New Model – Glashutte Original Julius Assmann 3
On the occasion of the famous Glashütte watchmaker Julius Assmann’s birthday, the master watchmakers at Glashütte Original have created a new “pièce de résistance” for the company’s legendary Assmann Edition.
The dial displays off-center hours and minutes at 6 o’clock, seconds on tourbillon cage at 12 o’clock, sectoral power reserve display at 4 o’clock, and a retrograde date display at 8 o’clock.
The movement is an original in-house Caliber 53 with 260 parts, 35 jewels (rubies plus 2 diamonds) with a diameter of 30.9mm and a height of 5.5mm (without the tourbillon cage). It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 48 hours.
All frame parts are skeletonized and engraved by hand, with a hand-engraved spring barrel, screw-mounted gold chatons, polished and blued screws, winding wheels with double sunburst decoration. All components are finely finished, beveled and polished.
The movement has been outfitted with screw-mounted gold chatons, beveled edges, and screws that were blued by hand, all classic traits of the traditional art of Glashütte watchmaking.
Only 25 pieces of this technically and aesthetically demanding horological treasure will be constructed. It will retail for 100,000 Euros.
