Installment 3, page 3 - Visit to Omega
Omega's wonderful museum provided our group with an absolutely amazing opportunity to examine watches produced throughout the company's history. As you will see below, few companies have been as prolific, or have produced as varied a collection.
Our guide for the museum tour was Mr. Peter Schneider, who is the curator/librarian for the museum. The museum was first opened in 1983, and currently houses in excess of 6000 objects.
Mr. Schneider first spoke to us about Omega's developments in the areas of sports timing. Below you will see some of their timers and photo-finish achievements.
From there, we moved on to pocket watches.
These DeVilles were favorites of mine, classic and beautiful.
And some interesting movements...
Of course we all know about Omega's relationship with space exploration...
Speedmasters, anyone?
Some wonderful chronographs from Omega's past...
