Industry News – Sale of the Private Collection of Theodor Beyer
The Beyer Watch Museum on the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich and the Private Collection of Theodor Beyer are a collector’s dream. Mr. Beyer died last July but his memory lives on through the exceptional pieces in his collection. The Theodor Beyer Private Collection is going to be auctioned in Zurich on November 16, 2003 by Antiquorum.
This unique sale represents more than 40 years of Mr. Beyer’s passion for clock and watch collecting. The sale is expected to feature more than 170 lots, which can be previewed in Geneva, New York, Tokyo, and Zürich.
Among the highlights is this Patek, Theodor Beyer’s personal watch, a Ref. 3940, one of only 25 ever made and uniquely marked ‘6’, to represent the sixth generation of the Beyer family. Estimate is $38,000 to $53,000.
